Hanchu HESS-OF-S-10K 10kW 48V Off-Grid Solar Inverter
The Hanchu HESS-OF-S-10K is a powerful 10kW single-phase off-grid inverter designed for large residential properties, farms, workshops and small-business backup-power systems. It combines a pure sine-wave inverter, dual MPPT solar charge controllers and utility or generator charging in one unit.
The inverter supplies 10,000W of continuous output power with peak output of up to 15,000W. This provides sufficient capacity for larger household loads, pumps, refrigerators, lighting, computers, entertainment equipment and other compatible appliances. Its rated motor-load capacity is approximately 6HP, although the starting current of each motor must still be checked during system design.
Its pure sine-wave output provides clean and stable 230V AC power, making it suitable for sensitive electronic equipment. A typical transfer time of approximately 10 milliseconds helps keep connected equipment operating when the system changes between utility and battery power.
The HESS-OF-S-10K features two independent MPPT solar inputs, allowing two separate panel strings or roof orientations to be connected. Each MPPT supports a solar array of up to 5,500W, providing a combined maximum PV-array capacity of 11,000W.
Each MPPT accepts up to 22A, with an operating range of 125–425VDC and a maximum open-circuit voltage of 500VDC. The dual-MPPT design is particularly useful where panels are installed on different roof sections or experience different sunlight conditions.
The inverter operates with a 48V battery bank and supports lithium-ion, lead-acid and user-defined battery settings. RS485 and CAN communication allow supported lithium batteries to communicate with the inverter’s battery management system.
The built-in solar charger supports up to 200A MPPT charging, while the utility or generator charger supports up to 120A. The maximum combined solar and AC charging current is 200A.
Optional Wi-Fi or GPRS monitoring modules may be added where supported. Built-in communication options include RS485, CAN, USB and a programmable dry contact.

This is an off-grid inverter and is not intended for feeding surplus electricity back into the municipal grid. It must be installed indoors by a qualified solar installer.
Because a 10kW inverter can draw more than 200A from a 48V battery bank at full output, the battery capacity, battery discharge rating, DC protection and cable sizes must be designed accordingly. Solar-string voltage must also remain below the 500VDC maximum under the coldest expected conditions.
