Hanchu HESS-OF-S-5K 5kW 48V Off-Grid Solar Inverter
The Hanchu HESS-OF-S-5K is a powerful 5kW single-phase off-grid inverter designed for residential, small-business, agricultural and backup-power applications. It combines a pure sine-wave inverter, an MPPT solar charge controller and utility or generator charging in one compact unit.
With a rated output of 5,000W and peak output of up to 10,000VA, the inverter can accommodate demanding appliances and motor loads of up to approximately 4HP. Its pure sine-wave output provides clean, stable power suitable for sensitive electronics, refrigerators, pumps, lighting, computers and household appliances.
The integrated 80A MPPT solar charge controller supports a solar array of up to 5,200W. Its MPPT operating range of 120–450VDC allows suitably configured high-voltage solar strings to be connected directly to the inverter. The maximum solar open-circuit voltage is 500VDC.
The HESS-OF-S-5K operates with a 48V battery bank and supports lithium-ion, lead-acid and user-defined battery settings. RS485 and CAN communication provide compatibility with supported lithium batteries equipped with a battery management system.
Utility power or a compatible generator can also charge the batteries, with an AC charging current of up to 60A. The inverter can combine solar and AC charging, with a maximum total charging current of 80A.
A typical transfer time of approximately 10 milliseconds helps keep connected equipment operating when the system changes between utility power and battery power.

This is an off-grid inverter and should be installed by a qualified solar installer. Solar-panel string voltage and current must be checked carefully to ensure the array remains within the inverter’s limits under all weather conditions. Battery communication compatibility should also be confirmed before installation.
